Saturday, April 18th, 9:00 to 10:00pm I went roller skating in Burlington with my cousins whose names are, Krystal and Jacob Coey and my other cousin Desi Wedell (short for Desirae). Krystal and Jacobs’s cousin's Ryan and Ashley were the family who set this all up... I was just invited by Desi. After I paid the admission along with the skate rental price I ran to the skate rental counter to claim my skates. By now the parents had left so the kids could be isolated.
I put on the brownish-tan skates and tightened the red laces. I was very eager to skate so I scattered off and disappeared into the roller skating rink. I went around about twice, but on the third time it struck me! My right skate was too loose. I remember that as my dad taught me how to skate he always reminded me to keep the laces as tight as possible. I then slithered off the rink to tighten the skate's red laces.
As I untied the skate the laces formed a knot! I tried with all my intensity to get the knot out but it just wouldn't go! I called for Desi to see if she could, but she couldn't either! She then called for Jacob, but as he tried I knew he wouldn't have the strength either. By now I was frantic to get the knot out. I was also afraid they would make me purchase them a new skate; but I couldn't just loose sight of the fact that there was a knot in my shoe. Not now! The roller skate was limp then ever. It just wasn't loose enough to slip my foot out. And in an addition to that, the lace was drooping off the side of the skate, I would trip! I took the best opportunity there was...to ask somebody who worked there for help. In fact I had two people...since the first one couldn't. And guess what?! Neither of them could untie the knot! This was getting frustrating. It all came down to cutting the knot! So now I had no choice but to beg for another skate. At last the stubborn man gave me a skate, but on the down side it was already 10:00! I had only and hour left to skate! At last I hustled off to get some real roller skating done.
